Amazing Tour with Egypt Key Tours

I had an amazing private tour of the pyramids of Giza and old Cairo lead by Jimmy from Egypt Key Tours. My Group had a very limited time (18hr Cairo layover) and the trip jimmy put together was amazing. Unfortunately our arrival was after closing of the pyramids but jimmy arranged a special camel ride to the backside of the pyramids which was crazy amazing.

After that we had a pre-arranged dinner and afterwards a private tour of the Old Cairo after dark. The market and architecture of Old Cairo is unforgettably and Jimmy made the whole experience even more unforgettable by his meticulous planning and knowledge.

He was very easy to listen to (a walking history book) and made us feel absolutely safe. When I return to Egypt there will be two certainties-that I have more than 18 hrs, and that I book with Egypt Key Tours!

Day 1: Arrival Cairo

Upon your arrival to Cairo International Airport, Egypt Key Tours representative will meet and assist you at Cairo Airport. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo by a private air-conditioned vehicle then at hotel you will be assisted for a smooth check-in.

Cairo overnight.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids- Egyptian Museum and Khan EL Khalili Bazaar & Train to Luxor

Breakfast in the morning then checking out from the hotel. You will be escorted by Egypt Key Tours guide to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops(the only one of seven ancient wonders still remaining on earth),Chephren, Mekerinus and the famous Sphinx, the Valley Temple facing the great statue.

Then transfer to visit The Egyptian Museum, which is the world’s greatest repository of ancient Egyptian treasures including those belong to the child King Tutankhamen along with many other fascinating artifacts, as well as additional visit to the mummies room at the museum.

After that, you go to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which is one of Cairo’s main attractions. The district of Khan El Khalili was originally a mausoleum called “El Zaafran” for the burial of Fatimid Caliphs. Then it became a district for the Turkish community during the Ottoman period, and now it has become a bazaar where you will find many souvenir shops, coffeehouses “Café” serving Arabic coffee and offering Hookah “Shisha”, and restaurants throughout the area.

Then you transfer to Giza railway station to board the sleeper train to Luxor .Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

Day 3: Luxor Sightseeing

Arrival at Luxor train station where you will be met and assisted then transferred to enjoy an excursion to the most interesting tombs at the west bank of the Nile river, the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and the colossi of Memnon. Then visit the splendid Karnak temples, which are considered the greatest open-air museum and Luxor Temple.

Back to hotel and overnight Luxor.

Day 4: Aswan Sightseeing

After breakfast, you are transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan, about 3 hours from Luxor to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will visit the High Dam, Isis Temple on Philae Island and the unfinished Obelisk. Then you are dropped back to your hotel for check-in and relax. After that, sail in Felucca boat around Elephantine Island. Back to hotel and overnight in Aswan.

Day 5: Abu Simbel Tour

Breakfast in the morning (or Breakfast Box), start your trip to Abu Simbel Temples. It takes about a 3 hour and half drive one way from Aswan to Abu Simbel by private air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival at Abu Simbel, enjoy the most remarkable temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style. Consider the largest rock cut temple in the world and the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of ancient Egypt.

The great Abu Simbel called the Sun Temple of Ramses II, the Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the sun god. So, in a symbolic way, the two temples, that of Ramses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramses and Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun Temple together as one.

After finishing the tour, you return to Aswan. Then transfer to Aswan railway station to catch your sleeping train back to Cairo, it is about 14 hours journey. Overnight onboard the train.

Day 6: Train Back Cairo visit Islamic & Coptic Cairo

Breakfast aboard sleeper train before arriving at Giza train station, where you will be met and assisted by Egypt Key tour guide then escort you to visit one of the most stunning constructions in Cairo, the Citadel of Saladin Al- Ayouby. It was built in the 12th century AD to fortify Cairo against the Crusaders. Inside the Citadel, you will visit the Great Alabaster Mosque of Mohammad Ali pasha, which consider is one of the most renowned historical and touristic landmarks in Egypt. The Great Mosque along with the citadel is one of the landmarks and tourist attraction of Cairo.

Visit Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa, which is one of the extraordinary wonderful monuments in the Islamic world and described as one of the world’s greatest edifices. It was built in 14th century AD.

Al Refai Mosque (known as the Royal Mosque) lies right beside Sultan Hassan Mosque, the Mosque was built in 19th century AD by Khoshiar Hanim wife of Mohammed Ali to be the mausoleum of the royal family.

And then you will visit Old Cairo (Coptic Cairo) “Hanging Church“, dating back to the 3rd Century AD and was dedicated to Virgin Mary. It’s called “Hanging” because of its location above the gatehouse of the ancient Roman fortress “Babylon“. It contains 110 Holy icons depicting beautiful religious scenes.

Then visit “Saint Serguis and Bacchus Church“, which is believed to have been built on the spot where the holy family rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.

Then, visit the “Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra“, which gained its importance from its Geniza (Storeroom) was found during the 19th century containing a treasure of abandoned Hebrew secular and sacred manuscripts.

Day 7: Free day or Alexandria Tour (Optional Tour not included)

Free day in Cairo or optional day to Alexandria. You will visit the Catacombs, which are the largest Roman cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock. The Catacombs of Kom Al Shoqafa is considered one of the wonders of the Middle Ages.

Then you will visit Pompey’s Pillar, it was constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century, originally from the Temple of Serapis.

Then you drive to visit the Library of Alexandria, one of the biggest in the world (visit open court+free museum) the largest and most significant library in ancient world. The library is famous for having been burned, and was very famous all over the ancient world for its huge books capacity of different sciences and literature.

Then go to enjoy with beautiful Montazah Royal Palaces and Gardens, which belong to the royal family of Mohammad Ali. On the way, you will see Stanley Bridge, one of the gorgeous modern buildings in Alexandria.

You will stop to take photos at Qaitbay fort, which is considered one of the most important defensive strongholds not only in Egypt but also along the Mediterranean Sea coast. The fort erected on the exact site of the famous lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

After the tour, you drive back to Cairo for overnight

Day 8: Final Departure

Breakfast at your hotel then transferred to Cairo Airport for final departure.
