The Origination Of The Name “Hapi” For Dahabiya

In ancient Egypt, the Nile was considered to be a God. This God was named Hapi. Egyptians believed that this God ensured the balance between flooding and fertility of the land. Every year around the beginning of summer the annual flooding of the Nile would occur. This annual flooding was considered to be a divine gift and was celebrated for many months. The Egyptians believed that the fertility of the land was due to the yearly flooding of the Nile and thereby followed the God Hapi. This marks the foundation of naming the Dahabiya after Hapi.
