Amazing Tour with Egypt Key Tours

I had an amazing private tour of the pyramids of Giza and old Cairo lead by Jimmy from Egypt Key Tours. My Group had a very limited time (18hr Cairo layover) and the trip jimmy put together was amazing. Unfortunately our arrival was after closing of the pyramids but jimmy arranged a special camel ride to the backside of the pyramids which was crazy amazing.

After that we had a pre-arranged dinner and afterwards a private tour of the Old Cairo after dark. The market and architecture of Old Cairo is unforgettably and Jimmy made the whole experience even more unforgettable by his meticulous planning and knowledge.

He was very easy to listen to (a walking history book) and made us feel absolutely safe. When I return to Egypt there will be two certainties-that I have more than 18 hrs, and that I book with Egypt Key Tours!

At early morning Egypt Key representative will transfer you to Luxor station to ride your train to Aswan ,upon arrival to Aswan station Egypt Key tour guide will escorted you to visit the  island of Philae  was the center for worship of the goddess  Isis and attracted pilgrims from all over  the ancient world. The original island is now completely submerged under the waters of Lake Nasser, but in spectacular rescue operation, the great temples and monuments of Philae were pulled out of the water and re-erected on a nearby island now renamed Philae.

This beautiful temple complex is one of the most picturesque in all over Egypt; Philae was one of the last outposts of Egyptian religion surviving two centuries after the roman converted to Christianity. The sacred island attracted many Greek and Romans pilgrims who came to pray for healing from the mysterious Egyptian goddess ISIS.

The temple of Philae were finally closed in 6th century AD by order of emperor Justinian, some chambers were converted for Christian worship and Coptic community lived on the island until the coming of Islam.

After that you will visit Aswan high dam is an embankment dam built across the Nile in Aswan between 1960 and 1971.the dame control flooding, provide increased water storage for irrigation and generate hydroelectricity, the dam was seen as pivotal to Egypt’s planned industrialization. The high dam has had a significant effect on the economy and culture of Egypt.

Aswan high dam is one of the most important achievements of the last century in egypt.it contains 18 times the material used in building the great pyramid of Cheops at Giza.

Then visit the unfinished obelisk is the largest known ancient obelisk

It is nearly one third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. If finished it would have measured around 42 m (approximately 137 feet) and would have weighed nearly 1,090 metric tons (1,200 tons)

Day 2: Abu Simbel trip from Aswan.

At early morning you will be accompanied by your tour guide to visit the most remarkable temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style, consider the largest rock cut temple in the world and the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of ancient Egypt. Was built by Ramses the second, the most powerful and celebrated ruler of ancient Egypt, the pharaoh also known as Ramses the great was the third of the 19th dynasty of Egypt and ruled at 12 century BC for 67 years.

The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood.

The gigantic rock temple of Ramses the great was cut out of the rock during the construction of the Aswan high dam and relocated to a safe place later on.

The temple was positioned in such a way that the miracle of the sun seen in the past can be experienced today. Twice a year.

The rays of the sun fall into the sanctuary and illuminate the statues of the gods and king Ramses the great.

The temple of Ramses 11 was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Hor-Akhty ,Amun-Re and Ramses himself.

The great Abu Simbel called the sun temple of Ramses 11, the temple of Queen Nefertari is also called temple of  Hathor who was the wife of the sun god so in a symbolic way, the two temples, that of Ramses 11 and that of Nefertari, bring Ramses and Nefertari, Hathor and the sun temple together as one.

Later, you will be-transferred back to Aswan to ride the afternoon train back to Luxor, upon arrival to Luxor you will be transferred back to your hotel.
